Julian Irwin Design was honoured to be selected as the
designer of choice for this incredibly important document.
This 46-page report represents the culmination of 18
months of research between 5 organizations. The report
lays out key recommendations for protecting the largest
fresh water region in the world. The key challenge in this
work was creating a visually accessible layout that is
very content heavy. This was achieved through the use
of an open typeface with a soft palette coupled with the
strategic use of images and graphics. One key element
was making the document interactive through embedded
external links and sources. This could be a great potential
solution to apply in Northland’s Sustainability Report.
